Skylights Done Right the First Time

New skylight installation, replacement of old cracked units, and permanent repairs to skylights that have been leaking for years. We use the manufacturer's flashing kit every time — never just caulk.

What's Included

  • New skylight installation (fixed, vented and Sun Tunnel)
  • Replacement of old plastic/dome skylights
  • Manufacturer flashing kits for shingle and metal roofs
  • Ice & water shield around every skylight
  • Solar-powered blackout blinds
  • Full re-flashing on skylights kept during a re-roof
  • Leak diagnosis and permanent repair
  • Interior drywall shaft repair (optional)

New installation

If you're considering a skylight, a north-facing installation on a shaded slope gives beautiful diffuse light with no glare. We'll walk your roof and interior to identify the right location and size before quoting.

Replacing an old unit

Plastic dome skylights from the '80s and '90s crack, yellow and leak. Modern glass units with a proper flashing kit are quieter, more efficient and typically pay back the upgrade in 15–20 years.

Why skylights leak

Almost every leaking skylight is a flashing problem, not a skylight problem. When we repair a leak we install a full step-flashing kit and ice & water shield, not just re-caulk the exterior.

Solar & vented options

Velux fresh-air (vented) skylights with rain sensors close automatically when it starts to rain — great over bathrooms and stairwells. Solar blinds add power-free blackout control.

Frequently Asked

Are skylights covered by warranty when installed with a new roof?

Yes. Skylight, flashing kit and our workmanship are all covered together — 10 years on our labour, plus the manufacturer warranty on the unit itself.

Can you fix a leak without replacing the skylight?

Often yes — most leaks are around the flashing, not through the glass. If the unit itself is cracked or the seals have failed we'll recommend replacement instead of a repair that won't hold.

How long does installation take?

A single skylight installation with drywall shaft finishing is typically a 1–2 day job. A straight replacement of an existing unit is usually done in a single day.
